To all baseball fans heading to Japan this March to witness the excitement of WBC 2026 at the Tokyo Dome! To ensure safety and a smooth tournament experience, WBC officials and the Tokyo Dome have announced a set of strict entry regulations and stadium policies.

To avoid delays at the gate or being unable to purchase food and drinks inside, please review these key points:

1. Security Check & Bag Policy (Upgraded Security)

Expect airport-level security checks. It is highly recommended to arrive at least 2 hours before the first pitch.

  • Bag Size Limit: Bags larger than 45cm x 50.5cm x 77.3cm (the size of your seat area) are prohibited.
  • No Suitcases: Large suitcases (carry cases) are strictly forbidden inside the seating area regardless of size.
  • Procedure: Metal detectors and manual bag checks will be performed at all gates.

2. Food & Beverage Policy (No Cans or Bottles)

This is one of the most frequently missed rules—please be aware:

  • No Bottles or Cans: Glass bottles, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles over 1,000ml are strictly prohibited.
  • No Alcohol: Bringing outside alcoholic beverages into the stadium is not allowed.
  • No Transferring Service: The stadium does not provide a service to transfer drinks into paper cups. Please finish your outside drinks before entering.

3. Payments: Fully Cashless Venue (Cashless Only)

Tokyo Dome has implemented a Fully Cashless Policy. Concession stands, wandering vendors, and vending machines do not accept cash.

  • Accepted Payment Methods:
    • Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, etc.)
    • Electronic Money (Suica, PASMO, etc.)
    • QR Code Payments (PayPay, dPay, etc.)
  • Recommendation: Ensure your IC card is sufficiently charged or verify that your credit card works for international transactions before entering the stadium.

4. Spectator Etiquette & Stadium Rules

  • No Live Streaming: Commercial photography and real-time live broadcasting of game status via any media are strictly prohibited.
  • No Smoking: Tokyo Dome is a non-smoking facility. If you need to smoke, you must re-enter the stadium after using designated smoking areas outside.
  • Re-entry: Re-entry is allowed with a valid ticket, but security checks will be repeated each time.

5. WBC Special Rule Reminders

  • Pitch Count: Max 65 pitches in the first round, 95 in the Semifinals/Finals.
  • Pitch Clock: A timer will be enforced—15 seconds with no runners on base.
  • Mercy Rule: Games will end early if there's a 15-run lead after 5 innings or a 10-run lead after 7 innings in the preliminary round.

Conclusion

Following these stadium regulations is not just about safety, but also about providing a better viewing experience for everyone. While the rules may seem complex, preparing in advance ensures you can take your seat on time and enjoy the thrilling games at the Tokyo Dome!
